Ways of separating mixtures

·         Evaporation: We separate soluble solids. For example salt from sea water.

·         Distillation: We separate a liquid from a solution, or 2 liquids. For example alchol and water.

·         Filtration: We separate in soluble solids using a FILTER. For example soil.

·         Dissolution: We separate in soluble solid from a insoluble one. For example sand from salt using

 Oxidation

Oxidation in fruit: When the fruit exposed to the air, electrons are lots. The oxygen atoms in the gain electrons from the fruit atoms.

Rusting:  When iron is exposed to oxygen in the air, electrons are lots. The oxygen atoms in the air gain electrons from the iron atoms, and oxidation takes place.

Fermination: (chemical reaction) with bacteria or yeast: An organism changes sugar and carbohydrates into alcohol or an acid.
